A day by day guide for what to do and places to visit if you are spending one week in Paris. On your last day in Paris, visit the most important and well-known sites including Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower.
Champs-Élysées
The avenue of Champs-Élysées is one of the most famous streets in the world. Stroll down while enjoying the view of perfectly clipped horse-chestnut trees and beautiful flowers. Champs-Élysées is also bordered by shops, cafés, cinemas and restaurants.
There are two historical monuments located on Champs-Élysées. On the eastern side is Place de la Concorde and on the other end is the Arc de Triomphe.
Arc de Triomphe
After walking down Champs-Élysées, you will end up at the Arc de Triomphe. The Arc de Triomphe stands at the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle (a large road junction), also known as the “Place de l’Étoile”. The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It was originally commissioned by Emperor Napoleon in 1806 but not finished until years after his death.
Upon arrival at the Arc de Triomphe, you will be able to read about its history while admiring this magnificent monument. You will also be able to access the viewing platform atop the arch by climbing the stairs inside the Arc de Triomphe. At the top you will get amazing views of the city of Paris.
Eiffel Tower
When most people think of Paris, they think of the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower is probably one of the most visible and recognized landmarks in Paris and in the world. It was created by engineer Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 World’s Fair.
You can visit three different levels at the Eiffel Tower. Each level offers spectacular views of the city of Paris.
Expect long lines to get up to the top in peak seasons.
